Union Olimpija continues without Slokar09.02.2010

Union Olimpija will continue its season without Slovenian power forward Uroš Slokar. The organization and the player broke the contract mutually on players wish. He will be able to sign in different club right away and Union Olimpija will have no expenses towards the player.

Uros Slokar: "I am sorry that my season in Union Olimpija had to end this way. I wanted to stay but I got a very good offer from abroad which I can't reject due to current financial situation in Olimpija. That is why I decided to leave. We ended the contract mutually, fairly and without any resentments."

Jure Zdovc, head coach of Union Olimpija: "Of course, at this moment we didn't want to make any additional changes in the team but we also didn't want to keep a player who wanted to leave and had a good offer. We will continue working on with the roster we have and try our best in NLB League and Slovenian competitions. We will be thinking of a new player to replace Uroš Slokar but only in range of our financial capabilities."
