Union Olimpija adds Slovenian Gašper Vidmar08.09.2009

Union Olimpija signed Slovenian center Gašper Vidmar (210cm, 1983) on one year contract. His Turkish powerhouse club Fenerbahce Ulker agreed on freezing his contract with them so player was able to sign separate contract with Union Olimpija. Gašper Vidmar will return to Turkey after a season playing here in Slovenia. The player averaged 3,5 points and 3,8 rebounds per game during last season's Euroleague, while in Turkish championship he averaged 6,3 points and 3,4 rebounds per game. During his career Gašper Vidmar played in Slovenia for Janče Ljubljana and Geoplin Slovan before moving to Turkey. He was also part of youth Slovenian national teams and was also member of senior Slovenian national team, but this year he was cut as last player from the team which went to play on Eurobasket 2009 in Poland.
