Green Dragons

Fan club began their activities in autumn 1988. At first, they were present only at the football matches for couple of years; at he beginning of the 1990, however, they started visiting hockey and basketball matches as well. Now they have been actively present in Hala Tivoli for more thena decade, especially at the Euroleague games. The fan club consists of 450 members, of which a good one tenth is made up of girls. The average age of a member is 22. Besides loud supporting, they are also 'responsible' for various styles of choreography. Before the matches, they always find a way how to paint the terraces with their favourite color – green & white. This is the reason why they have become so well known all over Europe . They wish that Hala Tivoli arena turned into a hot ground in the minds of Olimpija’s opponents, where there is impossible to win. Yet, they are quite aware that it will be hard to do it all by themselves, so they appreciate every voice coming from other spectators. They wish that some day in Ljubljana, as it is in today, the whole arena would loudly cheer for Olimpija, no matter what the score is, and that people would come in the arena not so much for the game itself but for the atmosphere there. They also accompany Union Olimpija at their away-games. The majority of the away-games in the Euroleague are so far that due to their limited means they can not support their basketball players in the court. When the games are closer to Ljubljana, for example in , they always travel to the games with several buses. Among the most memorable away-games are the ones in Milan, Barcelona and of course the Final Four Tournament in Rome where they stood face to face with 10.000 Greek supporters. A special place in the heart of every Green Dragon is taken up by the Swiss Lausanne where, Smelt Olimpija won the European Cup Championship title.
